LX200 refers to a line of astronomical telescopes from Meade, available in various sizes up to 16 inches. Most of them are Schmidt-Cassegrain designs, but there is a 7-inch Maksutov. The scopes are computer controlled and can operate from an altaz mount (standard tripod) or from an equatorial mount (optional wedge or "super wedge"). You could probably carry an 8-inch or even a 10-inch, but as you go up the scale the scopes get progressively harder to transport. I consider a 12-inch to be a two-person item, and the 16-inch is basically semi-permanent (though a truck-mounted scope is a possibility, given hydraulic jacks to stabilise the platform).
